What you will do:
The Quality Manager is responsible for the quality management system in the facility and monitors and advises on how the system is performing. This often includes the publication of statistics regarding company performance against set parameters. The job function covers all operational aspects and will set the bar during the decision making process as the company will rely on informative data.
How you will do it:
Manage Material Review Board system for material disposition and the Corrective Action Request program.
Perform Process and Machine capability studies as well as suppler qualification programs.
Perform Failure Mode Engineering Analysis on processes, and products
Promote and carry out 1st Article inspection practices and implement continuous training (Train the Trainer). Pinpoint relevant quality-related training needs
Conduct Internal Audits (Business processes). Performs internal quality audits to meet the requirements of ISO 9000 and 14000. Help maintain the Quality system to the requirements of ISO 9000 and 14000.
Promote quality achievement and performance improvement across the organization. Maintain a constant awareness of the company profitability from a QA standpoint.
Assess both suppliers' and own company's product specifications and customer requirements
Work closely with purchasing staff in establishing quality requirements for external suppliers. Ensure compliance with national and international standards and legislation
Consider the application of environmental and health/safety standards. Defining procedures in conjunction with operating staff
Set-up and maintain controls and documentation
Collate and analyze performance data and charts against defined parameters
Serve as liaison with other managers and staff, in areas such as design, production and purchasing
Ensure tests and procedures are accurately understood, carried out and evaluated and that product modifications are investigated if needed
Write technical and management system reports
Bring together staff of different subject areas and drive the group to plan, formulate and agree comprehensive quality procedures
Work methodically to establish a clearly defined system that all staff can apply. Persuade experienced and reluctant staff to incorporate quality methods
Act as the key contact with customers' auditors and take ownership for ensuring the execution of corrective actions and ongoing compliance with customers' specifications.
What we look for:
Required
Required BS in Engineering or BS Equivalent with emphasis on Quality Management.
Eight (8) years of related experience in a high-paced manufacturing environment in the role of Quality Control Manager.
Six sigma black belt trained or certified
