Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Telephony Technician to work on our Network and Communications team. This is an onsite role, located in the Idaho Administration Building in Idaho Falls, with a 9x80 schedule and every other Friday off. This position will report to the Network and Communications Manager.

This position will execute technical work related to Telephony, including but not limited to telephone and video conference equipment moves, adds, and changes.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Install, configure, and maintain telecommunication systems, including PBX systems, VOIP, and other related hardware and software.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to telephony equipment, ensuring minimal downtime and services.

  • Conduct regular inspections and assessments of telephony infrastructure to identify potential issues and implement proactive maintenance measures.

  • Collaborate with Cross-functional teams to integrate telephony solutions with other IT systems and applications.

  • Provide technical support to end-users for telephony-related inquiries, ensuring prompt and effective resolution of problems.

  • Monitor and analyze telephony performance metrics, making recommendations for improvements and optimizations.

  • Installation and termination of low voltage cabling.

Qualifications Minimum Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent plus 6+ years directly related telephony or structured cabling experience.

  • Experience managing multiple information databases.

  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with E-MetroTel 2930 server, Galaxy 3000 server, and UCx IP PBX.

  • Experience with Avaya System Manager, Communication Manager, Session Manager and IX Messaging.

  • Experience with Archibus, ServiceNow.

  • Knowledge necessary to use and analyze telephony testing equipment.

Job Information:

  • Salary Grade TS0400: 180 ($64,272 - $102,840) / Salary Grade TS0500: 190 ($72,528 - $119,652)
