Job Description
Develops and implements capital improvement projects, such as construction, remodeling, renovation, and maintenance of buildings and facilities, including preliminary concept development, detailed engineering design, and bidding. Designs, plans, installs, and/or maintains mechanical, electrical, plumbing, civil, architecture and other infrastructure systems. Analyzes current operating conditions and recommends new preventative and proactive methods for maintaining and monitoring facilities systems and/or infrastructure. Evaluates facility standards and practices to improve maintenance procedures and ensure optimal operational efficiency. Conducts preliminary surveys and prepares schematics and work drawings for the construction and maintenance of current, new, or remodeled structures and facilities. Complies with organizational and governmental safety standards. Participates in the planning and installation of new facility systems. May work with multiple components including HVAC systems, air or liquid cooling systems, CRAC/CRAH units, power distribution units, fire systems, life safety systems, etc.
Required Combination of Knowledge and Skill

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field.

Preferred Skills

* Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
* Experience with current International Building Code
* Applicable mechanical skill
* Ability to communicate well and interact with tradesmen and peers
* Civil Engineering experience

Pay Range
$61,000 - $93,400 annually

The Naval Nuclear Laboratory is operated for the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) by Fluor Marine Propulsion, LLC (FMP), a wholly owned subsidiary of Fluor Corporation.
