Youth Crisis Center- PRN Youth Crisis Peer Support Specialist

When youth experience a behavioral health crisis, they require a focused level of attention and care. As part of the integrated treatment team with our Youth Behavioral Health Community Crisis Center, the Youth Peer Support Specialists will provide support to youth who are experiencing a mental health crisis by sharing your lived experience to help promote recovery and resiliency. This position helps youth in understanding their role in accessing services, becoming informed consumers of services and self-advocacy within a crisis center setting. The staff at our Community Crisis Center work as part of an interdisciplinary team focusing on crisis intervention skills to de-escalate, treat and stabilize behavioral health needs of individuals.

We can provide a screening questioner and may be able to offer assistance with training costs if you are hired with the understanding that you will become certified.

  • Peer support certificate issued by the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare- If not certified, please see above**
  • Ability to obtain Optum Idaho Youth Peer Support Endorsement
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to pass background checks, including Enhanced Fingerprinting with ID DHW.
