The company is currently seeking a College Co-op/Intern.

Are you looking for a Mechanical Engineering Co-op/ Internship that will give you valuable hands-on experience? Our Co-op/ Internship program at Daifuku Airport America will combine your education with practical experience in core mechanical areas. We are currently looking for bright and talented college level students who are interested in bringing their passion to life and to be part of our future as a global material handling systems world leader. Our co-op and internship opportunities are led by engineers and technical managers who help pave the way for learning all aspects of our trade including design, analysis and testing in the mechanical, controls, electrical and manufacturing fields. This position will be responsible for working with the engineering staff on various projects as assigned for the needed results of our customers and our business.

Responsibilities

Job/task opportunities may include

    Provide support and basic trouble shooting for current operations.
  • Investigate, gather and analyze data for specifically assigned, recurring tasks.
  • Identify and implement cost reduction, quality, safety and ergonomic improvement ideas.
  • Implement new manufacturing processes and technology.
  • Analyze assignments and determine engineering specifications.
  • Compile necessary information to document the design solution required for adoption of a design.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

You would be a great candidate if you:

  • AutoCAD experience in 2D and 3D. Solidworks is a plus.
  • Experience in Inventor considered a plus.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Availability to work 24-40 hours per week between the hours of 8am-5pm, Mon-Friday, ongoing (not seasonal).

Education & Experience

  • Actively enrolled in and pursuing a B.S. or M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering at an accredited university.
  • Willing to work hands-on with tools and mechanical equipment.
  • Strong organizational skills and written communication skills.
  • Computer skills in Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Self-managed, hard-working, great attitude, ready to learn.

Demonstrated Physical Abilities

Remain stationary for 50% of the time; move/traverse throughout the office to access file cabinets and office equipment; operate a computer and other productivity machinery; inspect documents; communicate with others through talking/hearing; read/identify/assess forms and correspondence. Capability of maneuvering through an industrial conveyor system requiring climbing access ladders, negotiating catwalks and lifting and/or carrying objects up to 40 lbs.
