Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Field Service Tech provides field service support at fishing tournaments and grassroots promotional events across the nation. Supports elite level anglers at competitive fishing events as well as providing service and good-will repair to our customers. Assists the custom rigging and finishing department between scheduled events.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Plans and manages travel schedule

  • Provides WRMG service work at events including, but not limited to: BASS Elite Tournaments and the Bassmaster Classic, White River Marine Group/Bass Pro Shops sponsored trails, Bass Pro Shops Fishing Tour events, NWT Tournaments, and other promotional events.

  • Maintains adequate parts inventory for onsite boat repair.

  • Inspects, reports, and assures required program branding is at all scheduled events.

  • Transports company vehicle and company boat to the events.

  • Complies with DOT regulations and logbook requirements.

  • Provides on-site repair and service to Pro Team members.

  • Provides support to other company activities as needed.

  • Works with our Warranty and Engineering Departments to identify area of opportunity.

  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum Degree Required: High School Diploma or equivalent

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:

  • Must be able to pull boat, back up boat and operate boat in a safe manner

  • Customer service experience and/or marine technical experience a plus

  • Computer skills. (Expense reports, email, etc.)

  • Mechanical knowledge of boat components

  • Marine production knowledge is a plus

  • Self-motivated individual with ability to organize and manage themselves

  • Passion for the outdoors

  • Good communicator and good people skills

  • Ability to problem solve and make sound decisions without supervision

  • Ability work in fast-paced environment

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:

  • 65% National Travel

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Regularly performs computer work and sits.

  • Occasionally walks and stands.

  • Seldom/never lifts up to 50lbs.

INDEPENDENT JUDGEMENT:

  • Performs tasks and duties under general supervision, using established procedures and innovation. Chooses from limited alternatives to resolve problems. Occasional independent judgment is required to complete work assignments. Often makes recommendations to work procedures, policies, and practices.
