Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Information Technology Continunity of Operations Coordinator to work in our Information Technology (IT) department. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our Idaho Falls, Idaho facility with every other Friday off. Remote or Hybrid work opportunities may be available for this position.

You will report to the Deputy CIO and you will support operations and business continuity readiness and plan development.This program will require subject matter expertise in Continuity of Operations (COOP) planning and Business Continuity operations.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Conduct business impact assessments and enterprise-wide threat and vulnerability risk assessments with key stakeholders to identify potential threats to business operations, identify RTO - Recovery Time Objective (RTO) and RPO - Recovery Point Objective (RPO) measures, and recovery strategies and procedures. Make recommendations for improvement and implement approved initiatives.
  • Establish communication protocols for emergencies and maintain communication channels with relevant parties. Respond promptly to incidents, activating recovery plans. Conduct post-incident continuity reviews to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes. Identify gaps with IT recovery capability.
  • Develop business continuity reviews, establish and drive testing schedules, and coordinate overall testing cycles.
  • Support the implementation of BC and DR policies, standards, and procedures as part of the overall governance framework to ensure that the program is implemented in accordance with internal policies and standards, and that regulatory expectations for control, monitoring and reporting of risk are satisfied.
  • Collaborate with multiple departments, including IT, Risk, Finance, Operations, and Compliance, to ensure alignment and seamless integration of business continuity plans. Act as a resource for associates seeking clarification on business continuity program, requirements, policies and procedures. Help foster a culture of preparedness and resilience across the organization.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Emergency Management & Business Continuity, Business Administration, Risk Management, Information Systems, Information Management, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in business continuity planning, IT disaster recovery, emergency and incident planning and analysis, testing, concepts and methodology.
  • Knowledge of relevant industry standards and regulations related to business continuity and disaster recovery (e.g., ISO 22301, NIST SP 800-34).
  • Working knowledge of risk assessment methodologies, crisis management protocols, and regulatory requirements.
  • Expert knowledge of business continuity planning, disaster recovery and disaster recovery testing, emergency and incident planning, analysis, concepts, methodology and regulatory requirements.
  • A commitment to upholding confidentiality and data security.
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "Q" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

Job Information:

  • Salary Grade: PR0400 - 220 ($110,316 - $181,956)

  • TDP: This is a testing designated position; you will be required to submit to a pre-employment drug screen and periodic drug testing throughout the term of your employment.
