R & D Engineer- Chemical Engineer
Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a R & D Engineer- Chemical Engineer to work in our Aqueous Separations and Radiochemistry department. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our Research Education Campus with every other Friday off.
The R & D Engineer- Chemical Engineer reports to the manager of the Aqueous Separations and Radiochemistry department.
Responsibilities Include:
Apply Engineering principles to help develop chemical separation technologies and separations equipment for the treatment of used nuclear fuel as well a the recovery of rare earth elements from mining industry process and waste streams. Support development and testing of iodine and krypton separation processes from off-gas streams. Support operation of solvent extraction pilot plant facilities using centrifugal contactors, mixer-settlers and pulse columns. Assimilate and interpret experimental data.
Prepare reports and journal articles and present results of research to external customers and at national and international conferences. Contribute to the development of new capabilities for the Department in separations.
