Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Drafter to work in our Specific Manufacturing Capability (SMC) Engineering and Product Development department. Our team works a 4x10 schedule located out of our SMC facility with every Friday off.

You will perform as a member of an integrated engineering project team to apply electrical and mechanical design skills and techniques using CAD software.

Responsibilities Include:
  • This role facilitates the development of design drawings and specifications to support growth and improvement of the Specific Manufacturing Capability (SMC) project.

  • The performer will create and revise technical drawings to support the modification of systems, structures, and components (SSC's) that enable SMC to fulfill it manufacturing mission for the United States Army.

  • The ability to work within the design process from preparation of conceptual designs to as-building of as installed work.

  • Work will be performed with appropriate supervision.

  • The workload is demanding, and will provide a variety of design challenges.

Qualifications Minimum Requirements:
  • Technical Support Level 0200 - High School and 1-2 years related experience. Associate of Applied Science in Design Drafting or vocational certificate and 2 years of relevant experience preferred.

  • Technical Support Level 0300 - High School and 2-4 years related experience.

  • Knowledge of and experience using nationally recognized standards (e.g. ANSI, ASME, MIL-STD, IEEE)

  • Must have a basic working knowledge of current versions of AutoCAD and Creo drafting/modeling software.

  • Must have overall understanding of multiple types of drawings (e.g. Civil, Architectural, Structural, Mechanical and Electrical/instrumentation)

  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy "L" clearance, which requires US Citizenship.

  • TS0200 - 150 ($45,156 - $72,228) or TS0300 - 170 ($57,108 - $91,440)
