Where you will work:
The Lewiston mill is the largest of Clearwater Paper's facilities, producing both paperboard and tissue product, and boasting over 1200 talented employees. Approximately two hours away from Clearwater Paper's headquarters in Spokane, Washington, the Lewiston paper mill is a key component in Clearwater Paper's business strategy. What you will do:

Organizational Leadership

  • Supervise assigned electricians, and leadmen. Provide positive, proactive direction and management to assigned crews. Conduct performance reviews
  • Work closely with Business Unit Managers, mechanical maintenance supervisor, shift supervisors, planning department and appropriate department personnel to assure that all electrical maintenance activities are coordinated and executed to established plans and schedules.
  • Assess the needs of the crew and implement developmental processes (e.g., coaching, counselling, taking corrective action, mentoring, etc.) to continuously improve their performance.
  • Responsible for weekend and nightly mill wide calls.
  • Responsible for payroll approval process.
  • Review job assignments.
  • Oversee maintenance activities.

Safety and Environmental

  • Provide regular inspections of work areas to assure that good housekeeping practices are followed and that all department area maintenance facilities and tools are kept in good repair.
  • Instruct and lead crew in safe work practices in pursuit of zero injuries.
  • Verify that all safety recordkeeping is done in a timely manner.
  • Ensure structured, constructive safety meetings are conducted and follow up on resolutions for those items of concern which are brought up in safety meeting
  • Plan, coordinate and execute electrical repairs on overhead crane and lifting devices and monthly inspections as scheduled.
  • Fully support the mill's behavior-based safety program and assure that area maintenance employees are given the necessary time required for making safety observations.

Production Maintenance, Project Planning and Execution

  • Coordinate own activities and those of area employees to assure that all E&I maintenance work is conducted in a low-cost culture and achieving optimum equipment and process reliability.
  • Maintain a high level of awareness of all E&I maintenance activities being performed throughout the mill.
  • Identify and correct any potential problems (troubleshooting) and take appropriate action necessary to prevent serious equipment failure.
  • Coordinate and facilitate with planning department for development of weekly maintenance schedule. Develop and maintain crew schedules.
  • Prioritize, plan, organize and execute maintenance shutdowns and shop rebuilds.
  • Plan, organize and control maintenance timeline and cost.

Equipment Reliability

  • Monitor equipment efficiency and preventive/predictive maintenance procedures to identify problems and set up corrective repairs.
  • Maintain department repair records in a manner to best identify future preventive maintenance needs.
  • Monitor and identify equipment which has excessive/repetitive maintenance costs.
  • Responsible for purchase order process on equipment repairs.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute lubrication system oil analysis and schedules.

What you will need:

  • High school diploma or GED required. Associate degree or bachelor's degree in Electrical Maintenance, Electronics or related field preferred.
  • Minimum five years Electrical or Electronics experience in a production facility is required. Prior experience in a leadership position with supervisory experience preferred.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook required.
  • Experience using a Computer Maintenance Management System is required. (JDE preferred)
  • Must have good E&I and troubleshooting skills.
  • Must be able to supervise employees
  • Must possess good verbal and written communication skills.
  • High speed manufacturing environment, sustained exposure to high frequency noises, multiple hours standing, walking on concrete surfaces
  • Personal Protective Equipment required in mill environment.
  • Dirt, noise, odor, & temperature extremes.
  • Climbing stairs, ladders, and scaffolding
  • Exposure to hazardous chemicals used in manufacturing process

The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's job-related knowledge, skills, education, and experience among other factors. Benefits are generally available after 30 days and include medical, dental, vision, life, disability coverage, employee assistance program, and a 401k plan. Paid time off will include vacation days, personal days, and company holidays.
