Summary/Objective
Reporting to the General Manager, the Production Associate is responsible for sorting, pricing and preparing merchandise for sale according to production and workflow standards. This position is also responsible for completing other duties as assigned including ensuring a positive customer experience and product workflow in both the front and back of the store.
Qualifications
The Production Associate will be a proven leader with the following:
* Ability to remain on task in order to meet production standards
* Ability to learn computer skills to complete on-line training as necessary
* Commitment to mission of the organization
* Comfort with handling cash and operation of a cash register
* Understanding of the importance of the donor process and how it supports the mission
* Ability to perform job duties safely
* High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
* Operation of the hand stacker will require the ability to become certified in its operation
Essential Functions

Production
* Meeting and exceeding production standards per hours worked unless assigned to other tasks.
* Shares responsibility, based on store needs, in stocking the production station.
* Ensuring loss prevention and process flow guidelines are followed
* Meet or exceed 85 soft lines per hour / 95 hard lines per hour o 50% of production goal in one week after training ends o 60% of production goal in three weeks after training ends o 80% of production goal six weeks after training ends o 100% or production goal eight weeks after training ends
Operational
* Maintaining appropriate security of cash and donated goods
* Operate register, as directed
* Complying to Agency policies and procedures
* Ensuring a high level of customer service both front and back Safety
* Performing duties according to safety expectations and procedures
* Ensuring the physical safety of the back room and sales floor
* Preparing for production station before and cleaning the station after every shift
* Communicating safety issues and concerns to ensure quick resolution
* All other duties assigned by the Store Manager
Work Environment
This job operates in a retail environment with merchandise displays and items available for purchase in inventory.
Physical Demand
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate verbally and apply active listening skills. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work/Travel
This is a non-exempt position. Hours may vary depending on the needs of the business which may include nights, weekends and holidays.
